Money I Spent: About $100 at Smiths for groceries on Jan 25. I’ve found that if I don’t have the foods in the house I want (cheese, deli meat, etc.) I will eat chips and pretzels and ice cream for lunch. So I spent about $50 on healthy foods for the adults (cheese, salami, fresh vegs, etc.), and about $50 on special request items for kiddo (frozen potstickers, frozen chicken nuggets, ranch, etc.). Not fiscal fasty, but it felt necessary. Also spent about $40 on some jewelry for kiddo’s birthday. The rest of her birthday will just be cash and/or some money into her checking account!
Jan 24 was a $0 day.
Money I Avoided Spending: none, really
Money I Made or Found or Saved: eBay – 1 CD for $9, a vest for $5, and a license plate for $38.
Use-it-Up Challenge: Had our fridge soup for dinner again (homemade chicken stock, fried cabbage, sliced mushrooms, green onions, chicken, and rice). It’s so good! Also cooked up some chicken from the freezer.
Thoughts: I have been eating as if I’m still running 10 miles at a time, but then I just run 3 miles at a time because I don’t like being out in the cold, especially if it’s windy! So I need to adjust my diet a little until it gets warm enough to make 10 mile runs fun again. My goal for the spring, summer, and fall will be to run enough to allow me to eat kind of whatever I want (within reason). Maybe I can eventually get up to 30 miles per week or so.
