Money I Spent: About $35 at Sprouts for some groceries, like cheese, heavy cream, and some chocolate chip cookies. Also $5 at Starbucks for a coffee while I was out picking up the foster puppies.
Money I Avoided Spending: Really wanted to hit up the bulk section at Sprouts and get myself a big treat like a bag of cashew-white-chocolate-caramel clusters. But I didn’t!
Money I Made or Found or Saved: eBay – sold a pair of shoes for $14, a shirt for $14, and a pie plate for $40.
Use-it-Up Challenge: Nothing really, other than we had our “fridge/freezer enchiladas” from the other night again, double whammy.
Thoughts: This year, I am also trying to be more environmentally conscious, and follow the 5 R’s: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot. So at the dentist, they asked if I’d like the “goodie bag” which includes a toothbrush and small thing of floss and toothpaste in a little plastic bag. Normally, I’d take any free stuff they would give me, just because I like free stuff. But this time, I just did a “refuse” and told the lady I was trying to use less single-use plastics. She was like, “oh, ok, cool!” No harm, no foul.
