Money I Spent: $0 both days! Didn’t go anywhere or even look online at anything to buy.
Money I Avoided Spending: Nothing really, since I didn’t even consider shopping!
Money I Made or Found or Saved: Got my $1200 stimulus payment on Jan 1, which was a nice surprise! Going straight into the kiddo’s car fund. On eBay, sold a pair of Clarks sandals (unused) for $25, a pair of Anthropologie cargo pants for $11, and a pair of Rock Revival jeans for $30.
Use-it-Up Challenge: In December, I made it a goal for 2021 to be more plastic-conscious when I shop for things (toiletries, etc.) and try to get plastic-free as much as possible. I ordered several things to switch to whenever I run out of my current things. For example, a shampoo bar and a conditioner bar to use instead of bottled, and bamboo toothbrushes instead of plastic. I also had a weak moment and bought myself about $100 worth of ROC anti-aging wrinkle-filling face spackle, which was decidedly NOT in environmentally-friendly packaging. So, it’s a process. Pobody’s nerfect! Like anything else, it’s not about making one giant sweeping change once — it’s about making small sustainable changes every day.
Thoughts: I’ve been having laptop problems for at least a year now. Eventually I’m going to have to bite the bullet and get myself a good laptop (not the $600 Dell model I usually get — maybe a Macbook).
