Money I Spent: $0

Money I Avoided Spending: Have some things in Amazon and Target carts that I will likely buy Friday. Easter goodies for kiddo, and a couple of groceries that we could wait a while for.

Extra Money I Found or Made: ebay: Needlepoint set $16, salt & pepper shakers $8, set of patches $25, pair of shoes $9, lapel pin $12.

Use-it-Up: n/a

Don’t Go Into a Store: Success! Stayed home. Streak day 3.

Exercise Every Day: Success! Went for a 30 minute geocache walk with the family. Got a little sun and found 2 geocaches!

Work Outside Every Day: Success! Worked a little on garden beds and potted up some peppers. I am now out of potting soil, but have a ton (dozens) more pepper seedlings that need to go into bigger containers before they get planted outside “for real.” So I’ll have to decide if I should go buy more soil or I should just put the rest of my seedlings right in the ground and hope for the best. I think if I go buy more soil, the local hardware store would be a safer bet than Lowe’s or Home Depot in the city. I had planned to put about 15-20 of these pepper plants in 5-gallon buckets, but without any potting soil that won’t be possible.

Thoughts: Stay at home day 22. Had a lovely socially-distanced birthday party picnic outside yesterday. Grilled up some hamburgers and brats and brought our own pieces of cake. Made some decorations out of old scrapbook paper and everyone brought their own food so as not to cross-contaminate.

I’m really enjoying working from home. I can do actual work in the early morning when I’m most mentally productive, then go work outside, then go for a walk, play a video game, read a book, clean something, or watch TV. I don’t mind staying at home, so far. I’m glad my home is so comfortable and there’s plenty of room for us all to do our things without being in each other’s way.

Something I read today that made sense: “You are not working from home. You are staying home during a global crisis, trying to get some work done.” The basic idea being that what’s going on right now is bigger than working from home, so if you are less productive, less interested, less focused… it doesn’t matter. Stay home, deal with the crisis, and just try to get some work done.
