Money I Spent: $0
Money I Avoided Spending: Tried to buy eggs, but they didn’t have any. Looked for a few items online (garlic powder, onion powder), but everything is sold out. So ended up spending $0!
Extra Money I Found or Made: ebay: n/a
eBay Expenses: $0
Use-it-Up Challenge: We are about to use up several spices that we use daily – onion powder & garlic powder specifically. So I’ve dug out an older bottle of Seasoning Salt to use on my stuff instead. It’s only about 1/4 full, but it will last a couple of weeks.
Decluttering Challenge: N/A. Nothing really NEEDS decluttering right now, which is rare! I’ll keep looking.
Don’t Go Into a Store Challenge: Medium. I actually did go into our local grocery store looking for eggs. They didn’t have any, so I walked right back out. Stayed 6′ away from everyone, and got the heck out of there. Didn’t touch anything and didn’t buy anything.
Exercise Every Day Challenge: Medium. I went for a walk, expecting to go 45 minutes at least. But then it got cloudy, windy, and cold. I kept walking, thinking I could deal with that. But then a few rain drops blew into my face, and I thought… I do NOT want to get caught in a cold, windy downpour! So I went home after only 20 minutes.
Thoughts: Stay At Home Day 17. I’m glad we are staying at home like this during the spring instead of say, January-February. At least we have the garden and yard to work in most days. It was too windy and cold to do any outside work today, but this weekend should be nicer. Plans for the weekend include planting more lettuce in the little high tunnel, starting to harden off some peppers and tomatoes each day by bringing them outside for a few hours, cleaning out a couple of small flower beds to remove dead leaves etc. and make room for herbs, staking out some small spaces to eventually plant cucumber, watermelon, etc., pulling weeds in the garden, and just generalized “cleanup” of the yards in general.
We have been trying hard to maintain our keto diet/lifestyle, especially now. I know that if we hadn’t started keto back in December, I would have gained 20 pounds by now! We have quite a bit of meat in the freezer, so as long as we can get our hands on some vegetables, we can do keto. Too bad our garden won’t have vegetables for another month or so… if the radishes and peas ever sprout, that is. But eventually we will be able to eat some things from our back yard!
I had planned for this to be the year I bought some flowers just for the sake of prettiness… roses, to be specific. I was looking at Walmart for their “body bag” roses for a couple of weeks before we stopped going to Walmarts. I am officially putting “Project Rose Garden” on hold until next year.
