Money I Spent: $0
Money I Avoided Spending: Didn’t go anywhere and no shopping online!
Extra Money I Found or Made: eBay $16 for a pair of shoes (+ shipping). I’m continuing to list every day, but I changed my handling time from 1 day to 2 days, just so I only have to venture out to the post office every other day.
eBay Expenses: $0
Use-it-Up Challenge: Working my way through some hotel lotions, which I actually like better than my usual aloe lotion. Made some fat bombs and had a little chocolate left (coconut oil + cocoa pdr + stevia) so rather than washing it down the drain, left it out to add to our coffees in the morning.
Decluttering Challenge: Decluttered the buffet in the dining room and cleaned it out. Was able to consolidate some things, move some things, and throw away some old trash. It’s nice and neat! Too bad you can’t tell, because all the mess was contained inside.
Don’t Go Into a Store Challenge: Success!
Exercise Every Day Challenge: Success! Rode my bike up and down the street for about 10-12 minutes, then went for a slow walk for about 35 minutes.
Thoughts: Stay at home, day 14. This is our own personal day count, starting from when we really made adjustments to our schedules. Kiddo is starting to get just a little stir crazy, but it turns out I just really like being at home. So let’s just take this opportunity to be home, do chores, work in the garden, clean some things, and try not to think about what we’re missing out on.
I planted some lettuce seedlings in the high tunnel to see how they do. I think the overnight cold is fine for them, but the mid-day heat might be too much. And vice versa with things like tomatoes! So who knows how this thing is supposed to work. There will be a lot of trial and error this year, but maybe next year we’ll know what we are doing a little.
When all this is over and we can go out to stores and buy whatever we want, I am going to celebrate by making ice cream. Multiple kinds of ice cream. I really want to make a cookbook of New Mexico ice creams using ingredients special to certain places (Mesilla pecans, Alamogordo pistachios, Taos honey, Hatch green chile, prickly pear, pinon, etc.) like an ice cream road trip.
