Money I Spent: $155 at Walmart for Coronavirus “stock up” type items, mostly groceries but a few medicines and cleaning supplies. Trying to do a Fiscal Fast month during a time of widespread pandemic and possible quarantine is really not possible unless you’re already prepared for something like this.
Money I Avoided Spending: Well nothing really. I made a list of things we needed or should probably have on hand, and followed the list. So I wasn’t just willy-nilly panic-buying everything in the store (I didn’t even get any toilet paper!). I also forgot to gas up my car, so I guess that counts.
Extra Money I Found or Made: eBay sold a dress for $39 and a purse for $35 (plus extra for shipping). I also found $9 in a side pocket of one of my bags I had forgotten about.
eBay Expenses: $0
Use-it-Up Challenge: Used up leftovers for lunch!
Decluttering Challenge: Nothing today, but have started a list of places to declutter and clean while were are dealing with our 3-week community shutdown here. Starting probably with … the spice cabinet.
Thoughts: Coronavirus is really throwing a wrench into my fiscal fast plans for March. But I guess if we can’t leave the house much for the next 3 weeks, I won’t be buying much. So I’m just going to ride it out, buy what we need, and get over it. 😀 With the kiddo home from school for the next 3 weeks, I’ll have to figure out some cheap/free ways to entertain her so we don’t all go stir crazy. I’m thinking walks, bike rides, movies at home, puzzles, games that we already own, painting, art, etc.
