Zero Dollars Spent!

March 1, 2020

Money I Spent: $0

Money I Avoided Spending: Had planned to go into town for haircuts and some shopping. Decided to just stay home to save that $ for another day, and to save the gas. I’ve been promising to get the kid’s hair trimmed, so we will do that next time we are already in town. To save more, I will wait to get my hair cut until next month. The good news is we already go to Super Cuts, so the haircuts are very cheap!

Extra Money I Found or Made: eBay: sold a camera flash for $18, an embroidery kit for $34, a pair of Keen shoes for $19. These amounts do not include shipping, which is paid for by the buyer (e.g., the buyer paid an extra $9 for the shoes for shipping, etc.).

Spending on eBay Inventory: $0

Use-it-Up Challenge: Used up the very last of the Dollar Tree laundry soap after watering it down for all loads of laundry. Will pick up another DT laundry soap today. Have been watering down my favorite Aussie 3 Minute Miracle conditioner for about a week and it’s just almost gone. Cut up a toothpaste tube a couple of days ago to get the last bits out.

Decluttering Challenge: We went through our closets and decluttered clothes again. It seems like we do this every 6 months or so, but somehow between the clothes, towels, and sheets, we created 9 trash bags FULL of stuff we want to get rid of. I picked out the best stuff (North Face, Overwatch tees, etc.) to sell on eBay, and the rest will get donated. I have also started decluttering our books (again) to either sell on eBay or donate. We just have so much STUFF it’s pretty overwhelming sometimes.

Thoughts: I am happy to be on track again toward my goals.
