Money I Spent:  $0!

Money Victory ($ I avoided spending): Went home from work sick. Thought I’d go to Walgreens and get a prescription and some stomach meds, but decided not to. Thought I’d go to Smiths and get some soup, but thought I probably had a package of ramen at home, so didn’t stop. Turned out I did have soup at home and did not need medicine today.

Use It Up Challenge:  Nothing really. Had a packet of ramen from the pantry instead of buying anything new. Old (but ok) cereal for dinner. Still not feeling great so food choices are pretty bad right now.

Thoughts:  Spent about 30 minutes researching sales and coupons for our grocery trip tomorrow. Couldn’t find many useful coupons, but we should be able to keep it to $50 or less if everyone stays ON LIST.

  1. Money I Spent: $8.91. Healthy lunch at Jason’s Deli. Salad bar with water. Every thing a growing boy needs.

Money Victory ($ I avoided spending): Thought about stopping to pick up a rotisserie chicken on the way home for dinner, but decided there were enough leftovers to make do. (See “Use It Up Challenge”)

  2. Money I Spent: $0

Money Victory ($ I avoided spending): avoided the urge to go out to dinner, kind of wanting something different..

Use It Up Challenge: So from our leftovers – I had the last of the corn chowder and Winston had the last of the posole. Then we both had some fried potatoes and onions. Both we had on hand and the potatoes were needing to be cooked and the onions were beginning to sprout.

Thoughts: So yesterday, I said we would have a $0 day but that would not work out. I ordered a book from Amazon, 22.00, then I got a Turbo Tax at Costco, 42.00 (but a necessity) Then Winston spent 13.93 at Lowe’s for some lumber for a project of his. (He needs a project) 22.72 for gas at Smith’s and 39.75 for groceries at Smith’s. We got a case of green beans (.50) a can and 48 cans of tomato soup for .60 a can. Tomato soup is very calming and satisfying to me but I never seem to have any around and it us usually somewhere around 1.50 a can so actually a good buy.
