I think our use-it-up challenge could last us about 3 months. We have so much food in our freezers and pantry.

Looks like good deals on produce at Sprouts (50c mangos) and Smiths (99c pineapples) this week! Does anyone else check the flyers as soon as they come out on Wednesday? 😀  Also dry bulk quinoa is $2.49 / lb at Sprouts this week.

Money I Spent:  $0!

Money Victory ($ I avoided spending):  Went to the gym at lunch instead of going out thrift store/ebay shopping.

Use It Up Challenge: Leftovers for lunch. Fend For Yourself dinner 😀

Thoughts: I love January $ $ $

  1. Money I Spent: $43 to fill up my truck.

Money Victory ($ I avoided spending): Skipped out on a business lunch I probably would have had to pay for.

Use It Up Challenge:Used up all of our leftovers for dinner last night.

Thoughts:I didn’t purposefully skip out on that lunch. I worked from home yesterday to cover an appliance delivery (appliances bought and paid for in December) and the timing didn’t quite work out for me to make the lunch.

  2. Money I Spent: It should be $0 today as I am not planning to leave the house. Although we will spend about 32.00 for Dad to have a shoulder massage. He does those a couple of times a month and thinks they help so Medical is Medical!!

Money Victory ($ I avoided spending): I am not shopping on internet or going out today so that should be good.

Use It Up Challenge: Still working on frozen leftovers from holidays. Probably posole today along with salad and maybe another tamale from Garcia’s. Our blackeyed peas cooked on New Year’s Day were so good. We cooked them in our new instant pot. I think it took like 18 min. Thinking we should cook them every once in awhile instead of just on New Year’s.

Thoughts: It is good to clear out the cupboards and freezers once a year, things get old, stale, and out of date. So clean out and then start over.
