Happy New Year!
Money I Spent (Beth): $0
Money Victory ($ I avoided spending): nothing really, didn’t leave the house 🙂
Use It Up Challenge: still working on the leftover Christmas turkey
Thoughts: We did some grocery shopping on Dec 31 and kept it under $100, but for the next 4 weeks we will be aiming for $50/week (for all groceries, toiletries, etc.). We did pretty great with this last year, hitting right around $50 all four weeks of the challenge. Yesterday I made a crockpot full of apple cinnamon steel-cut oats (recipe here: Frugal Recipes), to get some food ready for the workweek, and to use up some apples that were going soft (and 1 pear). Today we will be making Hoppin John for New Year’s (black eyed peas dish), and I’ll be thawing a pork roast to cook tomorrow in the crockpot.

Money Victory ($ I avoided spending): I avoided getting a post-CrossFit Starbucks Nitro Cold Brew!
Use It Up Challenge: Used up the last of the leftover Xmas turkey today.
Thoughts: It was important to start off FF January with a $0 day. A $0 first week would be nice, but I’ll have to gas up my truck at some point.

Money Victory ($ I avoided spending): Drove back from Ruidoso today and came straight home. So no money spent!
Use It Up Challenge: Tessa and I have promised to not spend more than $30 in groceries this month. We filled up our freezers and cupboards before Dec. 31 and want to focus on meal prepping.
